The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced the postponement of the Lagos-Kano train service which was earlier scheduled to resume on August 13, due to a damaged rail track.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by Managing Director of the NRC, Fidet Okhiria, on Thursday.
Okhiria explained that the damage to the rail track was caused by a downpour around Power Line in Oshogbo, Osun State during the week.
While expressing the management’s regret for the inconvenience the postponement would cause for passengers and customers, Okhiria noted that a team of experts from the NRC had been mobilized to the site and was working to ensure the damaged track is restored.
He further said a new date for resumption of the Lagos-Kano Train Service would be announced soon.
