The market capitalisation of the Nigerian Stock Exchange rose by N114bn after the close of trading on the floor of the exchange on Thursday.
The NSE All-Share Index hit 25,816.29 basis points from 25,396.83, while the market capitalisation closed at N8.88tn from N8.736tn.
A total of 317.478 million shares worth N2.268bn were traded in 3,335 deals.
A total of 23 firms emerged as gainers, while 10 companies surfaced on the losers’ table.
Diamond Bank Plc, African Prudential Registrars Plc, United Capital Plc, Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc and United Bank for Africa Plc emerged as the top five gainers.
Diamond Bank shares closed at N1.54 from N1.40, appreciating by N0.14 (10 per cent), while Africa Prudential Registrars shares increased by N0.27 (9.96 per cent) to close at N2.98 from N2.71.
United Capital shares gained N0.14 (9.66 per cent) to close at N1.59 from N1.45, while those of Dangote Sugar closed at N5.99 from N5.49, gaining N0.50 (9.11 per cent). UBA shares also appreciated to N3.18 from N2.98, gaining N0.20 (6.71 per cent).
The top five losers were 7-UP Bottling Company Plc, Airline Services and Logistics Plc, Wema Bank Plc, EternaPlc and International Breweries Plc.
