Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, has been discharged from the Ruesch Clinic on Thursday after undergoing cheekbone surgery.
Osimhen suffered facial fractures after a clash of heads with Inter defender Milan Skriniar in Napoli’s 3-2 loss to the defending champions on Sunday.
The 22-year-old went through a successful surgery on Tuesday, and he is expected to be out for three months, which rules him out of next year’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The doctor who operated him said that the player required ‘‘six plaques and 18 screws’’ to repair the ‘‘devastating’’ damage.
Napoli has confirmed that the former Lille star is now back home and will be re-evaluated in 10-15 days.
“Victor Osimhen was discharged from the Ruesch Clinic this morning and returned home,” the club confirmed in a statement.
“He will have a rest period of at least 10 to 15 days and then he will be re-evaluated.”
Meanwhile, Skriniar has wished the 22 years old striker a quick recovery from his injury, stating that he’ll love to see him on the pitch soon.
“Hi Victor, Good luck, I hope to see you on the pitch soon. Forza, champ.”
