A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, has left the party.
He cited bias by the Dr. Iyorchia Ayu-led National Working Committee of the party.
But announcing his exit from the PDP in a letter addressed to Ayu, the chairman, Mutual Benefits Assurance, an insurance company, thanked the PDP national chairman for the “interaction and engagements within the party over the years.”
Ogunbiyi who recently announced his withdrawal from the race for the 2022 Osun PDP governorship primaries started politics in 2018 with the PDP. On 23 July 2018, Ademola Adeleke emerged as the PDP candidate after defeating him by seven votes.
