The Osun State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has described the move by the All Progressive Congress (APC) and Governor Adegboyega Oyetola to challenge the result of the just concluded governorship poll before an election petition tribunal as “a waste and an exercise in futility”
The Chairman of the party in the state, Gboyega Famoodun, dropped a hint of the party’s plan to approach tribunal over the outcome of the governorship poll held on July 16 while speaking with journalists in Osogbo on Thursday.
Famoodun said lawyers have disclosed to the party that we have a strong case we believe we have the win.
The Chairman Caretaker Committee of the PDP in the state, Dr Akindele Adekunle in a briefing, condemned the APC’s decision to approach tribunal, describing it as “anti-people and a challenge of God’s will.
The statement partly read: “We are waiting to be served an election petition. None of both parties- the governor-elect or the party are worried about the petition. It is believed to be a fair win.”
