The Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Osun State is in the process to elect its flag bearer for forthcoming governorship election in the state.
TOS NEWS gathered that Akin Ogunbiyi, Fatai Akinbade, Dele Adeleke, and Sanya Omirin have all withdrawn from participating in the primary election, leaving Senator Ademola Adeleke and Dotun Babayemi to battle for the ticket.
Some of the party members have raised allegations of bias amid litigations which could have ceased the process, but the party said that it will not be stopped from conducting the process that will ensure that a legitimate candidate emerges.
The Osun PDP primary is coming as the party renews its efforts to take back Osun state after 12 years of losing the governorship seat to the APC.
In 2018, the PDP candidate polled 254,698 votes while the APC flagbearer polled 254,345. With a gap of 353, the exercise was declared inconclusive; the PDP eventually lost after a rerun election was conducted in some local governments.
