Governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola has declared Monday, August 9, 2021, as a public holiday in the state to mark the Muslim New Year, known as Hijrah443 AH.
This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the state Commissioner for Home Affairs,Tajudeen Olaniyi Lawal, on Friday.
According to the statement, the holiday will be observed by workers throughout the state.
The Governor congratulated all Muslims and non-Muslims in advance on the occasion of this year’s Hijrah.
In the statement, Oyetola also urged the citizens to use the holiday to pray for the growth and development of Osun State and the country at large.
