The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) says its Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, has received medical attention after he slumped during a function at the Presidential Villa on Thursday.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Spokesperson for the Commission,Wilson Uwujaren, in Abuja.
Uwujaren said, “The Chairman was giving a goodwill message to the National Identity Day celebration, when he felt unwell and had to return to his seat.
“He has since received medical attention and is due back at his desk.”
TOS News reported that the EFCC Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, while speaking on the importance of digital identification in commemoration of the National Identity Day, suddenly became emotional, attributing his demeanor to the death of a staff of the commission.
He, however, did not give details of the identity of the staff. Shortly after he said he couldn’t continue his speech and then walked off the stage, sat in his chair and slumped.
