Many lives were lost after a heavy downpour on Sunday night at Trademore Megacity Estate in Lugbe, Abuja. Houses, vehicles, and other valuable properties were also damaged by the flood.
According to an eyewitness, over eight bodies were discovered and confirmed dead by National Emergency Management Agency of Nigeria (NEMA) after the search on Monday morning. Three of the bodies discovered were said to be children.
The estate has been witnessing annual flood during the rainy season for the past nine years, though the impact of Sunday night was said to be the worst in the last nine years.
