Former governor of Kogi State, Musa Wada has been appointed by the National Working Committee of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to chair the Screening Committee for its aspirants in the upcoming Anambra gubernatorial poll.
This was announced by the National Organizing Secretary of the party, Col. Austin Akobundu, in Abuja on Saturday.
According to him, the party also approved the nomination of South East Zonal Secretary of the party, Chief James Ugwu, as the Secretary of the screening committee.
Other members of the committee include: Sen. Ehigie Uzamere, Mrs Martha Bodunrin and Mr Jones Onyereri.
“It is expected that the aspirants will exercise exemplary conduct and strict adherence to rules and regulations during the assessment that will justify the confidence reposed in them by the leadership of our party,” he said.
The screening exercise is scheduled for Monday April 12, and Tuesday April 13, at the National Working Committee Hall, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, at 9:00 a.m.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the Anambra Governorship election for November 6.
On January 19, Chairman, Information and Voter Education, Festus Okoye announced the timetable and schedule of activities for the election in a statement issued in Abuja.
He said party primaries and resolution of disputes arising from the primaries would take place between June 10 and July 1.
