The Bauchi State Police Command has lifted the curfew enforced by the state government on Yelwa Tsakani, Kagadama, and Lushi local government areas of the state after a bloody violence broke out in the areas, leaving at least three people dead and many wounded.
It was reported that many houses, cars, motorcycles, and properties worth millions of naira were destroyed in the unfortunate incident which happened on Friday, May 27.
As a measure to stop an escalation and prevent any reprisal, the Bauchi State Government, through the Chief of Staff, Aminu Gamawa, announced in a statement the imposition of a 24-hour curfew on the three communities.
After three days, the government, in another media statement signed by the Chief of Staff, relaxed the curfew by 12 hours- 6 pm to 6 am.
