Hours after the news that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has informed President Muhammadu Buhari of his intention to run for President in 2023 on New Year’s Day awash the social media, which the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Publicity in the Office of the Vice President, Laolu Akande has labeled as ‘fake news’, TOS NEWS gathered that a large presidential campaign billboard carrying the name and picture of Osinbajo has surfaced in Abuja.
The campaign banner with the inscription, “Join us, Nigeria asks for Osinbajo 2023,” was attached to a bridge in a strategic location at the Central Area in Abuja and had a picture of the vice president.
The large banner had the name of a group, ‘The Progressive Project 2023’ as the sponsor. It had no party’s name or logo inscribed on it.
There have been speculations that Osinbajo may be interested in contesting for president in the 2023 election. But his spokesperson has repeatedly debunked it.
“If there is an update, I will ensure the media is made aware, please ignore the lies and many are going to still come,” Akande said.
