The Oyo State Police Command has confirmed the assassination of a radio presenter, Titus Badejo, who was reportedly shot at the premises of a nightclub at Oluyole Estate in Ibadan.
This was disclosed in a statement by Police spokesman, Adewale Osifesi on Sunday.
According to Osifesi, the incident was reported at the Oluyole police station in the early hours of the morning, by the manager of the lounge.
According to some witnesses, the deceased was shot at about 9pm on Saturday night by gunmen who rode on motorcycles.
The deceased was a freelance journalist and a disc jockey at the club where he was killed.
The police assured that efforts will be put in place to apprehend those behind the killing of the radio host.
The Oyo State Chapter of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) condemned the killing of Badejo, and urged the Oyo State Government to do all it can to tackle the incessant insecurity and fish out those who murdered the broadcaster.
