The House of Representatives has summoned all its standing committees to investigate ministries, departments and agencies of government over alleged diversions of funds released to them for execution of capital projects in the 2021 Appropriation Act, on Thursday.
This was immediately followed by the adoption of a motion by the Minority Leader, Ndudi Elumelu who alleged that some MDAs engage in diversions of funds released to them.
He said many of the MDAs were yet to execute capital projects under their purviews despite the releases of between 40 to 60 per cent of capital projects funds in the 2021 budget.
The Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila said if the allegation of diversions was true; it amounted to an act of “economic sabotage” which the House would not tolerate.
The committees were told to return back in two weeks time.
