American rapper Rick Ross has taken the role of Burna Boy at the Afro Nation in Puerto Rico as the Nigerian singer pull out for reasons yet to be revealed.
The replacement was speedily effected after Burna Boy’s team intimated the organisers that 2021 Global Music Album grammy award winner will not be able to attend the show.
Burna Boy via his social media platform on Thursday announced that he would not attend Afro Nation Festival in Puerto Rico due to unavoidable personal reasons.
He expressed disappointment over the development but promised to make it up to everyone affected by the news.
“I’m extremely gutted that I won’t be at Afro Nation Puerto Rico due to circumstances beyond ANYONE’S control. I’ll make it up to you all for sure!! Love, Damini,” Burna wrote.
Hours after the disappointing announcement, the organisers of Afro Nation Puerto Rico made a statement declaring Rick Ross as a replacement for the “Twice as Tall” singer.
Afro Nation wrote: “Yesterday we were informed by Burna Boy’s team that it was impossible for him to make it to Puerto Rico for his performance at ANPR2022.
“We have spent the last 24 hours attempting to secure a replacement and are hugely thankful to Rick Ross for stepping in at the last minute to deliver you an incredible show.”
