Senator Akpabio Visits Tinubu over Collapse of Ikoyi Building
The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godwill Akpabio, paid a visit to a national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, over the collapse of the 21-storey building in Ikoyi, Lagos State.
The minister disclosed this on Friday via his verified Facebook page, where he wrote, “I was at the residence of the Leader of our great party, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, on a condolence visit over the recent building collapse in Lagos, where several Nigerians lost their lives.
“I prayed for the repose of the souls of those who died in the unfortunate incidence. I also used the visit to welcome our leader back from his successful medical trip abroad and prayed to God to grant him good health in abundance.”
The Ikoyi building collapse on Gerrard Road,Ikoyi which happened on November 1, 2021, led to the loss of over 40 lives and left several injured.
TOS NEWS reported that governors of North-Western states had on Wednesday, paid a condolence visit to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu over the tragic incident.
The North West Governors Forum represented by its chairman and Kastina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, and Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the Kano State Governor, sympathised with the people of the state and family members of those who died in the collapse.
The two governors also lauded Sanwo-Olu for setting up a Tribunal of Inquiry to unravel issues surrounding the incident.
