A former Ghana Football Association [GFA] chairman, Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has appealed to the Black Stars to give their best on the pitch in order to record victory against Super Eagles and book their place in Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup group stage.
Nyaho-Tamakloe told Black Stars players to show eagerness and hunger against Nigeria in the 2022 World Cup playoff games, adding that they will have the needed support from the country.
“This game is not about the Ghana Football Association or the technical team, it is about the players. The players must be prepared to die on the pitch against Nigeria. We know what goes into such games,’’ he said on Asempa FM.
“I don’t know any of the players but I believe when they show on the pitch that they are ready to sacrifice, they will surely have the support from Ghanaians,” he added.
Meanwhile, the current GFA boss, Kurt Okraku has said the Black Stars have the needed quality to beat Nigeria in the playoff games of the 2022 World Cup.
Okraku was quoted as saying that “the Super Eagles are pretending to be giants ahead of the game but he remains optimistic that the Black Stars will come victorious.”
The first leg of the decisive play-off ties holds on Friday at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi with the reverse fixture coming up at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja next Tuesday.
