Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde on Monday said the party will put in its best into the ongoing South-west PDP Congress in Osogbo, noting that If it goes well, the future is bright for the PDP at the national level.
The governor who is in leadership tussle with Ayo Fayose on who leads the party in the Southwest also explained the reason why accreditation started two hours behind schedule.
According to him, the accreditation started two hours behind schedule to ensure a thorough process.
“I have to show them my driver’s license before I was allowed in. Accreditation is starting almost two hours behind schedule but better late and thorough than for them to rush and then they have challenges.
“The message is simple. This is a zonal congress and it has ramifications for our party at the national level. If it goes well in the South-West, be sure the future is bright for the PDP at the national level. This is just the election of zonal Officials, we will put our best and they will in turn assist us at the national level,” he said.
TOS News gathered that accreditation of delegates for the congress had started with Oyo state around 11:45 am.
A close source at the venue disclosed to TOS News that voting order is state by state depending on the distance from Oshogbo.
