Sterling Bank Plc last weekend opened Africa’s first free banking services for nongovernmental organisations (NGO).
The scheme, Sterling Cares, was unveiled by the bank in collaboration with Sterling One Foundation and the Nigeria Network of NGOs (NNNGO).
The Chief Executive Officer, Sterling One Foundation, Olapeju Ibekwe, revealed in a statement that the only relevant charge on the account is for SMS alerts and the International Day of Charity ensured an outstanding chance to openly assist the social impact and humanitarian projects of philanthropic establishments.
Olapeju urged the NGOs in Nigeria to take upper hand of the novel Sterling CARES account to keep their expense low.
The Divisional Head, Retail and Consumer Banking, Shina Atilola, stated that Sterling Bank has always made the social impact in her business activities the most important in consideration.
According to the Executive Director, NNNGOs, Oyebisi Oluseyi, the nonprofit membership body is delighted to receive the scheme.
“We are delighted to receive the news of the introduction of Sterling CARES by Sterling Bank Plc in partnership with Sterling One Foundation,” he said.
