Taiwo Odukoya Announces Death of Wife, Buhari, Others Express Condolences

The Senior Pastor of Fountain of Life Church , Taiwo Odukoya has announced the demise of his wife, Nomthi Odukoya.
Pastor Odukoya disclosed his wife’s death in a post via his official Instagram page on Tuesday evening.
Late Nomthi Odukoya , a South African passed away at the age of 47.
According to Odukoya , Nomthi “battled cancer for the better part of two years”.
“With deep regret and gratitude to God, I have to announce the passing of my wife, Pastor Nomthi Odukoya,” he wrote.
“She battled cancer for the better part of two years. She stood on the word of God, and she fought.”
“She gave me 11 beautiful years of marriage and two wonderful boys, who I know will be very significant in life. I loved her with all my heart but who am I to fight the will of God.”
“The truth is, at one point in our lives, we all will have to say goodbye. So for now, till we meet again in glory, Goodbye Nomthi.”
Taiwo and Nomthi who wedded in January 2010, are Senior Pastors of the Fountain of Life Bible Church, a Pentecostal church in Ilupeju, Lagos.
Odukoya’s first wife, Bimbo, was a popular televangelist who died in the ill-fated Sosoliso crash on December 10, 2005.
Since her demise, many Nigerians have sent condolent messages to the Odukoyas.
Co-Pastor, Daystar Christian Centre, Lagos and wife of Dr. Sam Adeyemi, Nike Adeyemi on her official Facebook page wrote on Tuesday wrote: “It’s with a heavy heart, I say goodnight to Pastor Nomthi Odukoya. We prayed, stood in faith with you that you will pull through this battle with cancer. Yet God wanted you home.
“Praying for the comfort and strength of the Holy Spirit for Pastor Taiwo,thechildren, the entire Odukoya and Fountain of Life Church family.”
Also, the founder and General Overseer of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, on Wednesday paid a condolent visit to Taiwo Odukoya, over the death of his wife.
Similarly, President Muhammadu Buhari in a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina has commiserated with Pastor Taiwo Odukaoya. President Buhari who described the death as “sad and quite touching” prayed that for God’s comfort and succour for Pastor Taiwo Odukoya of the Fountain of Life Church,
The statement read: “President Muhammadu Buhari prays God’s comfort and succour for Pastor Taiwo Odukoya of the Fountain of Life Church, over the loss of his wife, Nomthi.
“The President condoles with the cleric, his church, and Christendom in general over the unfortunate passage, describing it as “sad and quite touching.”
“He urges Pastor Odukoya to bear the adversity with equanimity, being convinced that nothing could have happened without the knowledge and permission of Almighty God.
The President prays strength for all who mourn the departed, asking God to give them fortitude to bear the loss.”
