Governor of Taraba State Darius Dickson Ishaku will, on July 6 and July 7, host meetings with governors of the six states of the North East geopolitical zone to discuss issues hindering the growth of the North-East region.
He made this known through his Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Bala Dan Abu explaining that the governors will deliberate on the security, economic development and social issues bothering the six states of the zone.
In preparation for the meeting, Abu said adequate security had been put in place.
“We are fully prepared to make sure that the North East governors’ meeting that will be taking place here in Jalingo is successful,” a top security personnel also disclosed.
The meeting, which will, for the first time, bring together governor of Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe and Yobe states to Taraba, will begin today in Jalingo, the state’s capital.
