Claudius Daramola, the Ondo state born professor who last week was made minister of State for the Niger Delta by Pres. Muhammadu Buhari, was never the first choice of the All Progressives Congress leaders in the state. A majority of the members of the party opposed his nomination. However, since he was the president’s choice, everyone learnt to play nice and the party even released a statement thanking Pres. Buhari for the appointment.
Describing Daramola as a workaholic with an eye for details and thoroughness, the Ondo APC Publicity Director, Mr. Steve Otaloro, said in a statement that “we want to assure Mr. President and the minister that the leadership and membership of our party in the state will support him and be available to lend him a hand of help whenever at all times.”
Daramola’s actions last weekend however, would not have endeared him to the party members after he refused to show up for a meeting with party stakeholders which he reportedly initiated.
