The Osasu Show: Reforming Nigeria’s Education System

This episode of The Osasu Show features Patricia Lamour, the CEO of Aspire Education Group and GEEDA (Gender Education and Enterprise Development for Africa).

Patricia is an international educator, gender expert and development consultant with decades of insight and experience and invaluable networks in the UK, Europe and Africa. She is also the recipient of the MBE honour bestowed on her by the Queen of England for her services in diversity.

Speaking with our host, Osasu Igbinedion, she reminded us of the popular saying of Mahatma Gandhi that there is enough for everyone’s need but not enough for everyone’s greed. She said that, much more than talking and writing we need implementation so as to curb the issue of Gender equality and quality education in Nigeria, stating that there is abundance of intelligence in Nigeria but the problem is a poverty of imagination.

On the 2019 presidential election, she advised that while voting at the polls was very important, we should ensure that we hold our leaders accountable to the promises made during their campaign, because the democracy being enjoyed didn’t come cheap, people before us had paid for it with their blood, hence we should not let their sacrifices be in vain.
