TOS AT ONE: Celebrating One Year of Impeccable News Broadcasting
By Fausat Bello
Renowned American author and leadership expert, John C.Maxwell once said, “A great leader’s courage to fulfill his vision comes from passion, not position.” The Osasu Show (TOS) Television, widely known as TOS TV Network, a digital first Pan-African News Network established on October 1, 2020, is a vision(laced with passion) of Chief Osasu Igbinedion to connect Africa through information sharing while fostering cultural integration and promoting African renaissance.
As a youth corps member with Bsc Mass Communication as my academic major, I was elated to be posted to TOS TV because I would be able to garner experience in my field of study for a fulfilling career.
Albert Einstein, widely acknowledged as one of the greatest physicists said, “Intellectual growth should commence at birth and cease only at death.” Looking back today, I can confidently say I have learnt and mastered the skill of news writing and a territory I considered ‘unchartered’ News Editing, in less than a year of working at TOSTV.
As the first African Television Network,TOS brings daily, in-depth and factual news on Africa, Business, Politics, International, Health, Sports, Entertainment and Development which I contribute majorly to especially on beats like development, politics, international and business.
With the conducive ambiance provided by our indefatigable CEO, Chief Osasu, urbane leadership of our General Manager, Mr. Dapo Banjo, and support of my senior colleagues, I have realised that I have a phenomenal potential for voice over which I have also deployed into journalism.
Jumping Jehoshaphat!
American football coach, and executive in the National Football League,Vince Lombardi said “The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.” Working at TOS has been fun and engaging with help from hardworking, determined, patient and encouraging staff who are always willing to teach and learn from one other.
On this first anniversary, I congratulate and appreciate Chief Osasu Igbinedion for believing in young people like me to be part of the great vision. Cheers to greater exploits in the years to come.
