
Troops during clearance operations, killed several bandits and destroyed their camps in Igabi and Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan made this known in a statement issued on Friday.
Aruwan said that security forces apprehended one Malam Idris Audu, a spiritual leader to the bandits, one Rabi Hajiya Karime said to be the wife of a notorious bandit named Zubairu, one Abdulrasheed Gambo Na Halima and Abubakar Idris Na Halima who were suspectedly working for bandits.
He stated that the clearance operations were carried out in Faka, Katuka, Barebari and Maguzawa.
He added the security forces equally conducted clearance patrols to Katuka, about 9km from Kangon Kadi in Chikun Local Government Area, during which one fleeing bandit was arrested.
He said that an unknown number of bandits were sighted on the high ground across the Maguzawa River.
“They were engaged by a Nigerian Air Force attack helicopter, and neutralised,” he added.
Aruwan further said that some motorcycles, one AK47 rifle, some AK47 magazines, ammunition and drugs were recovered during the operation.
