Nigerian film producer, Tunde Kelani has disclosed plans to produce a new movie to immortalise late Fuji icon Sikiru Ayinde Ayinde Barrister.
The filmmaker revealed the plans for the new project during the grand finale of a festival organised to celebrate the life and achievements of the musician.
He said the forthcoming project, unofficially titled ‘Sikiru Ayinde Barrister’, would help spotlight the musician’s contribution to the growth of Fuji music.
A veteran journalist and publisher of the Tabloid, Chief Tunde Busari also confirmed the development in a Facebook post. He wrote: He did ‘Ayinla Omowura’ in 2020. Ayinla Omowura fans exploded into frenzy. But before he did ‘Ayinla Omowura’, he had featured Ayinde Barrister (interpreted by Chief Gani Kayode Balogun) in his ‘Maami’ produced in 2010. Now, he’s set his camera to shoot a full film functionally titled ‘Sikiru Ayinde Barrister’ (SAB). Because he’s never a talkative, his word is his worth. Tunde Kelani, the Main Frame engine room, will do Barry and take him to cinemas. Living musicians should also work very hard to attract beautiful eyes as TK, the acclaimed living master of motion pictures. I had a brief chat with him at the Barryfest. What did he tell me? Open secret.”
