University of Jos (UNIJOS) has said all hostels should be closed to undergraduates and post-graduate students until a favourable security report comes from the Plateau Commissioner of Police.
The university asked students to vacate their hostels until further notice.
The statement where this was contained was signed by Chief Monday Danjem, the Registrar/Secretary to Senate.
The statement detailed that the advice from the school followed a meeting with the student unions members, the Commissioner of Police and other security agencies.
The students were told to give security agencies two weeks to review the situation.
It also stated the Senate concluded that the second-semester lectures for undergraduate students be suspended till the 7th of June, 2021.
