Nigeria’s Amina Mohammed has been reappointed for a second term as deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN).
Secretary General, António Guterres, made this known on Friday to journalists after taking the oath of office for a second term by the UN General Assembly.
Amina Mohammed served as Nigeria’s Minister of Environment from 2015 to 2016. She was also the special adviser to Ban Ki-moon on post-2015 development planning. She is a diplomat and politician who is serving as the fifth Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations.
