Work hard and eradicate poverty instead of lamenting your plight as “poor people will not go to heaven because they insult God through lamentations and accusations every day,” a Ugandan senior politician said.
“Why do you disturb God by asking him for money all the time yet he gave you hands, eyes, brains, ears, land, and rains amongst others? The tools he gave you are enough to make you prosper”, The Minister for Internal Affairs Gen. Kahinda Otafiire urged people, Uganda’s New Vision newspaper quoted.
Otafiire reportedly made the comments on Sunday while officiating at the opening of a boys’ dormitory of St Klaus Comprehensive Trade School in Bufunjo village, Kifuka Town Council in Kyenjojo district.
Youth unemployment and underemployment is high in Uganda, which has one of the world’s youngest populations with 75% of citizens under the age of 30.
Do not divide yourselves based on religions or tribes, instead, be united and have a collective effort in fostering development.
Parents were also advised to invest in education described as a foundation for development both at the household and national level.
“If you do not educate your children, whatever is left for them will be squandered including land or money due to poor management. But if you instill in them knowledge through education are assured of great benefits”, Ota said.
