The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami has said the Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) challenge MTN users are going through in the use of internet banking is due to the fall out between the Mobile Telephone Network and some banks.
He made this known after legion of users took to social media on Friday to lament for not being able to recharge their MTN lines, using USSD and other banking channels.
While responding on his Twitter page that this was due to a fallout between MTN Nigeria and some banks, he assured that the problem will soon be over.
“On the fallout between MTN Nigeria and some banks on USSD services today, I engaged with both regulators, the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria and EVC Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC). We have reached an advance stage of resolving the issues, for the services to be restored to our citizens. Many thanks,” he said.
