Wikki Tourists has set a new record in the Nigerian Professional Football League as they officially made the announcement of their new signing, Mahmood Gamal, an Egyptian player ahead of the start of the second quarter of this season.
The signing of the 24-year-old player was confirmed by the club on its Facebook page.
“Wikki Tourists FC made history today by signing an Egyptian national into the fold of its team from Egypt Insurance FC.
“Mahmood Gamal, a left full-back appended his signature on the club’s papers till the end of the NPFL 21/22 season.
“Gamal who has been assigned number 17 shirt is to resume training with the club immediately,” the club announced.
In the past, Nigerian clubs have signed players from across most West African countries including players from south America; but this was a new record as Mahmoud Gamal is the first Egyptian to sign for the Nigerian Professional Football League.
