The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) Oyo State Command, has deployed over 2,000 officers to some tactical locations within the state to ensure safety of lives and properties before and during the yuletide.
This was contained in a notice signed by the Command Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Corps, CSC Oluwole Olusegun who disclosed that the directives were given by the State Corps Commandant, Adaralewa Micheal Akintayo.
Oluwole said that Commandant Adaralewa gave the directive at the Command Headquarters Agodi Ibadan on Monday, while addressing the Armed Squad, Counter-Terrorist, Female Squad, Disaster Management officers, Agro Rangers and Under-Cover Operatives who were deployed to various locations like motor parks, recreational centres, worship centres and high ways.
“In case of any security threats Commandant Adaralewa Michael has called on citizens and residents of the State to call command emergency numbers 08062384818, 08077513995, 09055533303, 08035383164 and 08058268164.
“Be vigilant and security conscious anywhere you are and alert NSCDC near you while we as an organization would do the needful to protect the lives and property of residents in the state,” it said.
Adaralewa also charged the officers and men to be disciplined, patriotic and civil in dealing with the public as every Nigerian deserves respect devoid of humiliation and intimidation.
He further called on all the Christian faithful to use the festive season to pray for peace in the Country, be benevolent and moderate in celebration.
